Applied Intelligence is the capability platform of Psyche Ethos Advisory.
It underpins how we understand, design, advise and solve complex challenges.
Rather than relying on a single discipline or way of thinking, Applied Intelligence integrates multiple forms of intelligence according to the context, challenge and desired outcomes. This enables deeper insight, stronger decision-making and more coherent, sustainable solutions.
Applied Intelligence currently draws upon:
- Artificial Intelligence
- AI & The Futures
- Intelligence Sensing™
- Decision Intelligence
- Systems Intelligence
- Human Intelligence
- Collective Intelligence
- Ethical Intelligence
As the world evolves, so too will the capabilities within Applied Intelligence. The framework has therefore been intentionally designed to evolve alongside emerging disciplines, technologies and ways of understanding.
Applied Intelligence in Practice
The examples below illustrate how Applied Intelligence may be applied in practice. They are representative scenarios designed to demonstrate the thinking and approach of Psyche Ethos Advisory without disclosing confidential client information.
Decision Intelligence
The Challenge
A major utility company is preparing to replace its workflow management system.
The previous system contributed to significant increases in customer complaints, operational losses through fraud, regulatory scrutiny and poor data integrity, including duplicate and incomplete records.
Following an extensive procurement process, two potential solutions remain. Both offer advantages and disadvantages, yet neither fully satisfies the organisation’s requirements.
Initial technical and commercial evaluations have produced mixed conclusions. Stakeholders hold strong and often conflicting views, with different departments advocating different solutions based on their own priorities and perspectives. Despite extensive discussion, there remains no shared confidence regarding which option best serves the organisation’s long-term objectives.
Decision-making has become increasingly complex and progress has stalled.
The Ask
Psyche Ethos Advisory is engaged to provide independent Decision Intelligence.
Working collaboratively with key stakeholders, we establish an agreed decision architecture before evaluating the available options.
Using our proprietary approaches and Applied Intelligence capabilities, we:
- identify the critical components of the decision;
- establish objective decision criteria;
- evaluate technical, strategic, operational and organisational considerations;
- examine historical context and lessons learned;
- surface hidden assumptions, risks and dependencies;
- integrate analytical, technical, intuitive, strategic, contextual and practical perspectives;
- provide independent insight to support robust decision-making.
Rather than advocating predetermined solutions, our role is to strengthen the quality of thinking that underpins the decision itself.
The Outcome
Stakeholders agree the decision criteria before the analysis is completed.
This creates transparency, fairness and shared ownership of the decision-making process.
By separating evidence from opinion and making hidden assumptions visible, conflict is reduced, alignment increases and decisions become more robust, defensible and sustainable.
Rather than decisions being driven by competing agendas or organisational politics, they are informed by a coherent, structured and contextually appropriate evaluation process.
This example illustrates only one application of Applied Intelligence. The same capabilities may be applied across strategic planning, governance, organisational transformation, public policy, artificial intelligence, leadership, innovation and other complex decision environments.
